Palestinian Mass Poison Plot Foiled At Israeli Restaurant

Two Palestinians from Nablus who worked illegally at a restaurant near Tel Aviv have been arrested for seeking to taint food they served with an undetectable poison, Israel’s Shin Bet security agency revealed on Thursday.

The two 21-year-olds - Aham Rial and Anas Salum - confessed during interrogation to plotting to poison food at the Grill Express restaurant located near the Diamond Exchange in Ramat Gan, which adjoins Tel Aviv.

The plan was to use a white, odorless and tasteless poison that takes four hours to take effect, which they were to receive from their Fatah-linked Al Aksa Martyrs' Brigades handlers in Nablus.

The two were recruited for the Hizbullah-financed terror plot after they were already working at the restaurant. In addition, they were also asked to help smuggle a suicide bomber into Israel.

A similar plot was discovered in 2003, when three Jerusalem Arabs with ties to Hamas planned to carry out a mass poisoning at the Cafe Rimon restaurant in Jerusalem.
