An Israeli Air Force sortie in Gaza on Monday killed Ibrahim Abu Olba, a senior leader in the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine terror militia. The terror group has claimed recent rocket fire on southern Israel.

According to Palestinian witnesses, the terror leader was killed getting out of his car in Beit Lahiya, close to Gaza’s border with Israel.

The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed that three others were wounded and that Abu Olba died from injuries later in a Gaza hospital.

The IDF verified the operation and explained that Abu Olba was responsible for several attacks against the IDF, including firing rockets and trying to infiltrate into Israel numerous times. Defense officials added that he was plotting to carry out a new attack against the IDF.
